Jim Sells.


Head Coach

Biography:

Coach Jim Sells took over the Head Coach position for the Boys Swimming & Diving team in October 2014 and took over the Girls program in May 2017.  In high school, he swam for Ann Arbor Pioneer.  He was a member of two straight Class A State championship teams and was a 5-time high school All-American.  He went on to swim all four years at the University of Oklahoma, where he met his wife, Jill.  He has two daughters who both swam.  Ashley swam for John Glenn and Bulldog Aquatic Club. His youngest daughter Kera, also swam for John Glenn, Bulldog Aquatic Club and is currently swimming for the College of Wooster.   Currently, he’s an Assistant Coach with Bulldog Aquatic Club with focus on the Senior & Bulldog group.   

 

Jill and Jim have three granddaughters and a grandson is due in August of 2018.  Grand daughters are Vienna, Autumn, Isabel and soon a grandson, Shawn III.

Assistant Swim/Diving Coach

Biography:

Assistant Coach/Diving Coach, Katina, is in her 4th year of coaching at Churchill. Prior to coaching at CHS, she coached at Salem High School for one season, taught swim lessons for 10 years and was a gymnastics coach for 3 years. Before she became a coach, she was a gymnast for 16 years, a diver for 6 years and a fastpitch softball player for 8 years. She dove at Churchill high school and was a state qualifer in diving her senior year and a state qualifer in gymnastics her junior and senior year. 

 

Coach Katina currently works as a mechanical engineer developing the newest crash test dummies. In her free time, she enjoys playing slow pitch softball, traveling, being outside and spending time with her loved ones.
