Serving it up for our Troops
The Churchill Charger Volleyball teams will be serving it up for our troops on Tuesday, October 11th when they host the Franklin Patriots for their final home match of the season. The Chargers are collecting items to send overseas to our troops in care packages with the help of Operation Care Package MI out of Lapeer. See the list that has been provided by Operation Care Package MI and created with request from the troops. If you would like to donate please bring your items to the game or contact us at chargervbmi@gmail.com to setup a pick up of the items.
The Chargers have also been doing the #22daypushupchallenge and will be asking the Franklin Patriots and any fans that would like to come down to the court in between the JV/FR and Varsity matches to join them in doing their 22 push ups. This will be the final day of the 22 day challenge for the Chargers and hopefully the start of the challenge for many others. The reason for the challenge is to acknowledge that every day there are 22 members of the military who take their lives as a result of PTSD and other issues, after returning home from their time serving our country. If you accept the challenge you need to do 22 push ups each day for 22 days and you need to nominate someone everyday to the challenge. Also, if you are able to record each day and post it online please be sure to tag #22daypushupchallenge and #ChargerNation. No matter your level of pushups you can do it, they can be assisted (on your knees) or you can even take a break, just do 22 each day. Take the challenge!!
