This past Tuesday the Chargers hosted Wayne Memorial Zebras for a KLAA match, that also included parent recognition prior to the Varsity match.  All 3 teams swept the Zebras, taking the Varsity to a 4-0 KLAA record.

On Thursday they traveled to Franklin to take on the Patriots in another KLAA match.  The evening started with the Freshmen and JV chalking up victories.  The Varsity swept the Patriots 25-9, 25-11 and 25-12 to go to 5-0 in the KLAA.

Over the weekend the Freshmen Chargers traveled to Fowlerville to take on St. Johns, Lansing Catholic and Williamston in pool play.  They grabbed the #1 seed by going 2-0-1 in pool play, splitting with Lansing Catholic.  In the first round of bracket play the Chargers took on Charlotte, beating them in 2 sets.  Heading into the semi-finals to meet up with St. Johns again.  The Lady Chargers fought in set #1 but could not secure the win, losing 21-25.  In set #2 the girls just could not get the rhythm going and dropped that set 15-25.  Overall a great day for the young Lady Chargers.  Heading into this next week they sit at 23-7-1 and 4-1 in the KLAA.

The Varsity Lady Chargers went to battle at Northville on Saturday.  Pool play matched them up against Lake Orion(19-25, 25-16, 7-15), Livonia Stevenson(25-15, 25-16) and Northville JV(25-7, 25-18) placing them in the 4^thseed of the Gold Bracket behind Northville, Bedford and Lake Orion.  The Chargers knocked off Seaholm before losing to the host and tournament champion Northville Mustangs.  A great 3^rd place finish behind #4 state ranked Northville and HM Lake Orion.

This week the Chargers will travel to John Glenn on Tuesday and then host Plymouth on Thursday where they will also be recognizing many members of the Churchill staff at the Staff Appreciation Night.  Come on out and see some of your Churchill Staff serve up the first serve of the night.  Both nights have the FR/JV starting at 5 and the Varsity to follow around 6:30 pm.
