The Charger Boys Tennis Team completed the season with an overall dual record of 7-3.  The Conference Division record was 2-2 and we tied for 6th place in the KLAA tourney.  

We had many successes during this season.  We won the title of Livonia City Champs, and also were the top team at the Brighton Quad.  Some individuals that performed very well were Tim Ohtake (12th grade) - beat Novi in the Semi-finals to advance to the final at 4 singles at the KLAA tourney. Two days later in our Regional Tourney, 11th grader Jonathan Zhou battled his way to the final and was Regional Runner-up at #3 Singles.  Matthew Smith had a very good win over the #1 Farmington player, and performed well despite falling to tournament tough and highly ranked players from Grand Blanc, and Birmingham Brother Rice.  Sean Mulka played some very good matches at the spot of #2 Singles for the Chargers accumulating a record of 15 -5.  Doubles teams steadily improved with each match and gave some of the tougher opponents a big challenge.  

These are just a few examples of the great matches that some of our Chargers have had in the past 2 weeks.  Although falling short of the goal to qualify for the State Tournament, the team was successful on many different levels, showing steady improvement, a strong dedication, and sportsmanship at all of our events.  The team will celebrate their season with an end of the year banquet on October 20, 2016.

Boys Tennis

First Official Start Date:  August 10, 2016 (this falls on a Weds).  We will practice at the Churchill courts from 9:00-11:00 a.m. until school begins.  Our practice time after school begins will be determined as soon as Coaches' teaching schedule and times are certain.  

Physicals:  You MUST have your physical turned in to attend any practices.  No exceptions!

Meet the Team Night:  Wednesday August 17, 2016    There will be a meeting in the auditorium at 7:00 p.m and then we will branch out into our teams.  Location will be announced.
